Calix Customer Video: Network Transformation in Appalachian Ohio

In Southern Ohio, Horizon Telcom has been serving the town of Chillicothe and its surrounding county for over 100 years.  A true innovator, Horizon was one of the first regional service providers to offer video services and has continued to deliver unique offerings to its subscribers.  Looking ahead, Horizon is embarking on an ambitious network transformation project, expanding its serving area to 34 counties, as part of the Connecting Appalachia Broadband Technologies Opportunity Program (BTOP) project.  Powered by the Calix Unified Access portfolio, Horizon will help bridge the broadband gap in numerous communities and connect the networks of anchor institutions such as hospitals, schools, and community services via fiber.

In the video, Horizon’s President and CEO Bill McKell and his team share their network transformation story and outlook on the future, as they strive to become the premier broadband provider in the area.
