Calix Innovation Awards: FTTP in South Carolina
[Ed. note: This article is the third in the Innovation Awards series about Calix customers who are contributing to their local community and reimagining their networks in creative ways.]
Moving to the South in our tour of the Calix Innovation Award winners, we travel to Walterboro, South Carolina to visit with a leading-edge cooperative that is utilizing fiber to bring economic development to Colleton County.
Palmetto Rural Telephone Cooperative (PRTC)
Tony Stout, CTO of PRTC, highlights how fiber has brought new opportunities to residents and businesses throughout the county. With fiber-fed cell tower sites, county offices and local schools, PRTC’s network is impacting the lives of nearly every resident in the area. Powered by the Calix E7-20 Ethernet Service Access Platform, the PRTC network and its positive effects on Colleton County are highlighted in the Calix Innovation Award video below:
Be sure to come back to the Calix Blog in the coming weeks as we highlight three more winners through new videos, North Dakota’s Reservation Telephone and California-based communications service providers Sebastian Corporation and Volcano Communications.
